Mike Berners-Lee is a British researcher and author known for pioneering work on carbon footprints. He is Professor in Practice at Lancaster University and founder/director of Small World Consulting. His books include How Bad Are Bananas?, here Is No Planet B, and A Climate of Truth* (2025). He advises governments and companies on carbon metrics and the climate impacts of technology, including AI.
